Default T-bolt clamps?

Hi all, I have done some searching for this, but all I got was how bad band clamps are, how to fix band clamp leaks, a recomendation to use python clamps, flange your system, or ball and socket the system(like the MAC's) My question is, Do these t-bolt clamps work well? http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...3429&x=15&y=13

Or are they just as bad as band clamps with slip fit leaks?
Any help would be great, as I just ordered my QTP's today. Still dont know how I am going to adapt the headers to my stock y-pipe.......(any ideas?)

I have no experience with them, but all my friends who own supras swear by them (mostly for intercooler stuff though). If they work I might try some to try to get rid of some of my exhaust leaks. Anyone have them?

T-bolts might work.

Thanks for the imput. They seem like a good idea. But it doesnt look like you can tighten them too much.

Also, any ideas on adpating my stock y-pipe to the QTP's?

They are different sizes if I recall? You would need some pipe work there. It says you are getting true duels soon. I would just wait to install those with the headers at the same time and avoid the T-bolts and messing up y-pipe.

The duals wont go in for another few months, I am still getting pieces together. I need the cats and a couple more pieces of piping. It will be over the axle, and my plan was to have someone else fab it up for me. Since it will be a while, I was going to install the headers, run catless, and then soon after that have the duals fabbed up, then get a tune. I still need some sort of clamps regardless of the duals.

EDIT: yes, the y is 2 1/2" , collector is 3"

I would use the "butt" style band clamps, they work really well and you don't lose any clearance.

I read that those and the preformed still leaked, and there not all that reusable as they stretch and bend. I read a lot about using RTV and such to seal them.

Hmm...they look kinda hard to get a good solid seal with. Honestly, band clamps are probably going to be your best bet. I've always had great luck with them, but give those T clamps a shot! You just may set a new wave for the LS1 world!

Provided Pi-thon comes through for me, I'll have the rest of them in my hands and on my car in a couple of weeks, so I'll try to set a new trend from that end

Right now I only have 3 out of the 6 I'm gonna need, but the rest are on their way. I really should have NOT waited until the last minute to order these.
