Default 3 inch exhaust too big?

I am planning to do exhaust as my first major mod. My plans are stainless works 3in collectors, and tsp true duals. This will be an all 3inch setup. Is this exhaust too big for my relatively stock setup. I plan to modify more in the future, but this will be it for awhile, besides maybe a tune. Any opinioins are greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Nathan

It wont hurt. The muffler provides the backpressure. The only disadvantage I see would be ground clearance but that depends alot on the builder.

I switched to the 3 inch duals over my borla set. I took it to the track and gained like 1mph and it was 30lbs lighter than the borla, After awhile i got tired of the drone and switched back. As soon as i got the borla back on i went down the road and smacked it and could tell it didnt have the same power as the duals. With the duals i could smack it in 2nd gear and spin all over the road with street tires. It never has done it since. So i think it will be fine, oh im going back to the duals. Im just going to try a different muffler this time.

I just installed my Jet hot LTs and the tsp true duals !! theres enough ground clearance....Im also lowered w/ DMS springs....I think the 3" is fine...especially when/if you put heads and cam on like Ill be doing in 2 months

Good luck...are you installing headers??? if not I would recommened just getting the slp loud mouth

just my .02

I ran 3" exhaust ( headers cat-back etc. ) on a stock motor for 2 years; it was fine. Got rubber in 4 gears ( RAM 980 disc ).

all depends on where you place the exhaust...if it runs under the floor pan's then it will be about an inch from scraping..add a bullet and it is touching the ground....place it in the ds tunnel and you will have 3-4" clear...
