arp harmonic balancer torque spec???

Default arp harmonic balancer torque spec???

i cant seem to find the torque specs on the arp harmonic balancer bolt...installing a pulley forget what it was.... does 220 sound right??

Some people will tell you 250 ft lbs, but thats absolutely retarded. I used to TQ them to that, and it's a TOTAL overkil.

That being said, the pulley will seat long before 220, but thats a good mark. Thats what I use.

the print out i have frm ls1howto.com says 240, but it also says that hes never hit 240 and that 200 is enough.

I do 250 no problem.I would rather do it right than have a pulley come off.If you can't get 240-250 one handed your a girl.

I hit 240, but it was extremeley tough to do on an engine stand. I had to stp and re-tighten the bolts on the back of the stand because they were wanting to do there on thing with that kind of pressure. Don't use a reducer down to 3/8 drive either. I broke a 3/8 extension dead center and cut my forearm open on the shrapnell. Anyone who is trying to torque there bolts down with one arm is retarded.......

No,I'm just tired of hearing everyone say the factory specs can't be met and that a lesser torque value would be JUST FINE.Do it right the first time and you won't regret it like some of the guys that just couldn't get the specs right the first time.
