Default ceramic coated headers

first off, i know this should be asked in the exhaust section but i spend most of my time in this forum and there are a lot of knowledgeable( is that even the right spelling) people in here so im going to ask you guys

Ive been looking into buying Hooker LT and people have told me that ceramic coated is better. now my question is why is ceramic coated better?

And i was looking around on TSP and saw pacesetter for about 300 thats like half the price of the ceramic Hooker LTs

So does anyone know if pacesetters are better, worse, uglyer (i like my stuff to look really nice)?

And is it really worth the extra money for ceramic coating?

First off ceramic coated headers wont flow better but they cool quicker. And for rust thay will last about 3 to four years before the ceramic coating starts breaking down and thats if you dont drive in rain or worse conditions.

ceramic coated headers that are coated inside and out are supposed to flow better, but I think once the insides get sooted up that theory goes out the window

ceramic coating may not last forever but probably long enough

they do look very good

since most people think all the longtubes make near the same power i say go with pace because they have got flanges as thick or thicker than the competition and the bends are nice and smooth

i dont know how other brands fit but they cant possibly fit any better or go in any easier than the pace

Not a lot better, but likely a little better than mild steel yes. Stainless flows better too.

No, it does NOT last forever, I've seen coatings flake off inside of 3 months, serious rusting inside of 3 months and 2 days.
304 stainless steel headers (like the awesome QTPs) generally DO last forever.

This is true, it's a subjective thing but I do agree, they are pretty.

1. no flow gains

2. wont last forever, but will take MUCH longer to rust than painted headers

3. i love my pacesetters, they fit great, look great, flow great, i think the main reason people still buy hooker headers is because they say HOOKER on the side and are scared off by such a good price.

4. definatly worth the money for ceramic coating, you will thank yourself the first time you open the box and see the bling, and for the next 10,000 times you open the hood and see the bling

i dont see how its gonna flow any better with coating.
coating flakes off alot faster than 3-4 years.
after a week of driving the car around, look by the collectors, they are chipped away by rocks. rust will soon take hold after that.
get pacesetters.
