Driver Side header wont come off (hooker long tubes)

Default Driver Side header wont come off (hooker long tubes)

im doing my heads and cam awap and cant get my driver side header off. Anythign specail i have to take off to get it off???? I did pace setters on my frineds Ta and then went on and off so easy....anything im missing?????

you did unbolt it from the Y right?

take off that little bolt right next to your oil filter. it will pull this lip off so you can slide the header right out. sorry i dont know exactly what it is but you must haave taken it off to install them as well. what heads and cam r u going with

youll lose some oil when doing this but when you finished just cap it off and put more oil in. what kind of reply is "did you unbolt it from the y???"

they where on the car when i bought it..... lets just say its a good heads and cam setup......i will look for that bolt

you do know your not removing the header, just unbolting it off the head so it hangs in the engine bay.

he's not doing a header install, he's doing a cam and head swap. there is no reason to remove the header or even **** with the oil divertor or oil filter. you have to unbolt the header from the Y in order to unbolt it from the head.

when u let them hang u cant get the 3rd head bolt on the bottom..... plus i wana take them off and set them to jet hot because the guy befor me was cheap and dident get coated headers

yes, you can get all the head bolts, you just have too manuver the header until you can get the proper angle.

how how do you have the car?

the front of the car is jacked up about a foot ..... the header will only move so far i can barley get on the head bolt but not enought to get it off with out rounding the top of it.....

i no to get them off im gona need to jack the car a good 2 1/2 feet up to get the headers off

To get them out, you are also going to have to unbolt the steering linkage. Atleast that's what I had to do with my Hookers. Also, be sure the steering wheel is locked and that you do not move it while the linkage is off. It's a PITA to realign back up.

Put the car on jack stands instead of trying to get the car up high enough with just a jack. Much safer.
