The only side exit exhaust setups I've seen that provide enough ground clearance are nascar style boom tube setups which are ridiculously loud. Either dump at the axle or run out the back.

you can search "side pipes" and find plenty of info. check the exhaust guide under duals for Rene's (trans am rgs) side pipe setup.

Boom tubes are NOT a streetable option.
They are what goes on oval track stock cars. They are VERY VERY loud.
A few guys on this board run them- one of them an Off Road Racer.

They work like many X-pipes combined into one magazine. They'll suck air very well.

If you want your borla to be louder:

A) take out the closed plate at the flange and run the exhaust freely out the passenger tailpipe.

if that's not loud enough

B) Get Texas Speed's True Dual X-pipe.

yea im running no plates on my borla and i want it louder so you say do an x pipe and run true duals all the way back? or just to the borla? im not too sure what you mean realistically what i want to achieve is louder when hitting above 2500 rpms but not annoingly loud at idle

As for True Duals, no, I don't mean run them up to the Borla- it doesn't work that way (you know that).

True duals (usually in X-pipe or H-pipe config.) either dump a the axle with turn downs, or run over (or even under) the axle with tail pipes exiting at the bumper.
Dumped= Cheap and Loud with bullets/ tolerable with mufflers.
Over the axle= $$$ and quieter/ tuned sounding.

Louder when above 2500rpms with your open plate on the Borla (see boom tubes j/k)- sure true duals dumped with bullets will be louder- but will also be very loud at idle.
