Default ? about Jet Hot headers and Flowtech headers

How does the coating hold up on them? I live in Texas and I drive the car everyday. I just want a nice set of headers without breaking the bank. I would really like to go with some stainless steel headers but I don't think I could afford it right now so I'm looking at some coated headers

What do you all think of the flowtech headers?

I have a set of Jet Hot's on my 383. I like them. No fitment issues. They only have 12 miles on them so I'd have to get back to you about how they hold up.

I've seen some good threads on here about he jet hot coating and how it holds up.

whatever you do, don't get the Flowtechs. It appears that no matter what coating you get it will eventually peel off. I've got some coated PaceSetters that I installed in July and they seem to be holding up pretty good. I do however have to get under the car and use some metal polish on the collectors to remove the surface rust every month. That surface rust can cause real problems if left alone. Some people here might tell you that the best coating is the one that you actually pay good money for. Even people with JetHots that have sent their headers back for a recoating after the warranty expires get a much better coating on their headers after they spend some good coin on them. Hope that helps.

i have had my jet-hots for about one year. they still look as good as they did when i bought them (minus the scratches they got from the install). i heard the y-pipe can be a b!tch to install, but i went true-duals so i know nothing about it.

Flowtechs are crap. I haven't even had mine a year and all around the base of the primaries and the collector there is lots of rust. Theres even some rust around the flange where it bolts to the heads. If I were you I'd just save up and get stainless. I sure wish I had.

I've had my Jet Hot's for two years now and they look as good as when I first bought them, of course using some metal polish on them 2-3 times a month probably didn't hurt as well.

I've read nothing but problems with the Flowtechs.

We have the FlowTechs on our race car and have no such issues. They have been on there for 5 months now, granted they are not coated just painted. The black paint turned gray, due to the heat. Our Camaro SS has Hooker LTs that are Jet-Hot coated. I bought them back in 2001 and they still look very well. FlowTech and Hooker LT are the same thing, they are owned by Holley.

I think I'll just stick to getting QTPs when they have their next sale
