Arrow QTP headers install ??

I just got my QTP's and am preparing to put them in this weekend. I have read everything I can find on this site but have one question for those who have done it.

The consensus seems to be that the car should be 20" off the ground.

Is the 20" under the wheels or 20" to the bottom of the rocker??

Thanks!!

Not exactly sure but the HIGHER the better.
Great choice of headers by the way.

The higher you can get it the better. When I did my SLP LT's I used 3-ton stands in the back half way up and had to buy some 6-ton stands for the front and put them about half way up. Jack it up in small increments from side to side, and as always, be careful! I guess to answer your question, get it up about 20 inches to the bottom of the rocker and if they dont go in... raise the car up some more

Not sure of the exact height but I had to turn my driver side header straight up for it to go in without having to remove anything. Including the oil filter/plug.

This is definately the key to putting them in with no problems, makes it a breeze.

I have a question for anyone ,I tried to install a set of hooker headers but the drivers side hits on the floorboard. Is it possible the engine is sitting or leaning to one side, and if so can you adjust on the motor mounts?

Poor quailty headers. There seems to be no quality control on them. Some fit like Kooks and QTP's, others hit every part under the car. How bad is it hitting?

I also need to know how high to get the car, 20" to the k-member doesnt seem like enough. Depending on how high I have to get the car, I may make 2 stands out of 6x6's.

Stainless from what I uderstand is lighter than mild steel so the QTPs should be measurably lighter than the likes of Pacesetter, Jet Hot, Hooker etc...factor in the weight of the coating and it's an even bigger weight savings!

Sorry I don't have any helpful hints, but I just wanted to let you know that you made a great choice

I put mine in with the use of a lift.

I jacked the car up as high as my largest rolling jack would go (it's a 21" jack) + a piece of 4"x4" blocking was used between the jack and the K-member lift point. I had the rear tires up on Rhino ramps. So figure at least 2' clear from floor to bottom of K-Member.

QTP's slid right in. Slide them in with the collector aiming down.

Thanks for the input guys!!

I have the car up about 20" now as I was rebuilding the tranny. I was going to put it on the suspension to install my new SFC's. I will see how high I can get it safely.

I have 2 huge jack stands I can use on the rear axle. I am making blocks out of wood to go under the front tires. I should be able to get over 2'
