nasty exhaust sound Alright, here we go. My buddy has pacesetter long tube headers, open cut-out, and what appears to be a flowmaster muffler, probably 80 series, and the rectangular tips. Basically, almost the same setup as mine. However, when he steps on it, there is like a hard rattling, almost like a machine gun sound, that makes it nasty and extremely intimidating. This only occurs with the cut out open. I wish mine did this. I will try to get a sound clip of this. This sounds badass, and I NEED to duplicate. I'm thinking something may be broken or loose, or could it actually be the freakin' tips? I have the 3" round tips. He has a '00 Ws6. My mods in sig.

No it is nothing like rasp. It is a physical sound, and our cars at WOT sound VERY different, though at idle with the cut-outs closed, they are very much the same. I know what rasp is, and this ain't it.
he is right there is noting like rasp most guys buy mufflers to stop but myself i like it the tips will give it a loud crackling sound and make it rasper i have 3&1/2 inch tips on my loudmouth and i love the rasp

Yeah cars with open cut outs make that noise. I will try and find the thread but I read about it on here and it has something to do with the diffrence between the exhaust temps and the ambient temprature.
