S2- More emphasis on low end, 60 foots and holeshots
S3- More emphasis on better mid and top end, and racing from a roll.

Although I went with an S3 even though I am a dig racer. You don't sacrifice much down low, but gains are more spread out through the RPM band.

Mines' not here yet, well, I mean it was, but the Post Office damaged it

I waited 4-5 weeks, it finally shows up, and there's flat spot around the bowl!!
USPS said they will deny the claim based on Shaner not packaging it right!
And that is total BS!

Post Office

Ok, rant over.

Would there really be that much difference between the two. I have a hard time believing that you could feel a difference between them. What is done different with the S3 over a S2?

I think the differences are subtle, but the trend has been to go with the S3. If you are a 1/8 mile racer, the S2 may help you. The most common comment for either model is a tremendous throttle response.

As far as the specifics, 'not sure how he ports them differently. He will glady discuss this with you, but be sure you have some free time, he is surely a conversationalist.

If you do call him, tell him "Tom" sent ya. If he asks "who?" mention the damaged S3 in the mail. The sooner he re-does one for me, the sooner you'll get yours if you buy one...

haha.. trust me I know the aggrevation you are dealing with. I am a manager at a postal center and claims with USPS are a pain in the ***. I have read the info on his site, but I was also looking for feedback from people that have his product.

The throttle body is awesome. The throttle body was packaged sufficiently...I wouldn't rave about it, but the only way it would get damaged is if the post office crushed the box.

I have the S3 here for about a year now. Mark's a great guy to deal with. I'm in his customer section.

Why not just wait a week or two more and get the new billett TB? Should outflow the S3 by a good margin and there is a special deal on the first 20 or 30 sold. I am on the list for one.

Smoother airflow. If you just port it bigger more air will get in. If you get it smoothed out it will flow more air/cfm too because there will be less turbulence. Plus it looks cool, and much prettier. I love my S3.

I'm not sure how close he is to releasing it. And I didn't want to wait much longer, it's already been since 1st week of December. BUT....if the billet is MUCH better, I may rethink and wait. This is the peak of my racing season, so I am getting very anxious for the TB.

I am also on the brink of cracking 11's and hope this TB puts me over, even though it doesn't do anything drastic on the track. Moroso doesn't hook, so good ETs have to come from horsepower, not traction.

Hmmmmm...

the throttle body bore size is not changing correct?

I have thought about doing mine but dont see it being that big of a difference. Maybe a litle better flow from smoothing it out in the front but is it making more power?

1. Correct

2. A little more power. And the more you're modded, the more you gain. Figure around 5-7 rwhp.

I'm heads/cammed/LS6/FTRA so I think it would be a good addition. Maybe .05 off ET and .5 mph gained in traps. As small as it may be, I'll take it.
