Default What known issues with revised FAST 90mm TB?

I'm ready to order a 90mm setup and have heard bad about bouth the FAST and the TPIS. The FAST is cheaper and I can keep my core. They revised it to take care of some issues, but are there any issues still surfacing with the revised unit. How can you tell if it is the revised unit?

John

From what I've seen on this board, the revised unit is just as bad as the old unit.

The whole 90mm setup has been a huge pain in hte ***. I did the ls2 intake though. I have the revised fast tb from what I'm told. It was noticably used when I recieved it so I assume it was used and returned. It doesn't have enough spring pressure to keep it closed properly. The blade sticks when it is all the way closed. I had to do an extra half turn on the spring to get enough spring load to close the tb. I think winding the spring tighter, and notching the blade arm so that it doesn't slip were the revisions made. Seems like they need to fit the blade better as it sticks somewhat when it's closed. I need to get a maf conversion plug for my 85mm before I can do anymore tweaking. I originally ordered the tpis, but after waiting a month and they were still on backorder I went with the fast. Maybe it was a mistake.

Seems the throttle shaft was revised and all that needs to be done is the "peen" mode on the bearings behind the TPS sensor. Leaning towards the FAST TB! Keep them coming guys!

These were really the only problems to start with. If the shaft has been revised, then just peen the bearing and you should be good. If the shaft hasn't been revised, it's not hard to fix. Get the FAST and save the money/core.

That is what I'm thinking Beast. Does the Fast have a hole in the TB like the stocker to help out with idle?

No hole in the blade. You set idle with a set screw. Very easy to adjust.

Did you guys notice any loss of low end TRQ with the install of the FAST 90mm TB?

Not that I can tell. Haven't tuned it yet for the new combo so it should be even better. It is super responsive on the low to mid tps %. It flows a lot more air.
