Default oil getting into lifter valley....

well, I'm having a problem with oil getting into the lifter valley and soaking the knock sensors with oil, causing them to throw a code...I had my friend do it like 3-4 months ago...he told me everything was soaked in oil, but I didn't really think about it...well now it's doin it again and throwin the same code AGAIN

here are some pictures

what would you all suggest??? how can I prevent this from happening?

thanks

There are some seals that are around the bottom of the knock sensor mounting bosses. Remove the valley cover and replace the seals. They are a very hard rubber that gets brittle over time...

Posting under SLCKLS1's name...

I was the one that helped him with the removal and replacement of the intake...

I noticed the seals were pretty hard, so I RTV'd them to the lifter valley in hopes of sealing them better.

Does anyone else have any ideas on WHY there is so much oil under the intake. It just dosnt seem like oil should be under there. I mean its not like a true lifter valley on a SBC. Damn LSx motors.. I think Ill stick to my LT1!

How about getting a LS-6 valley cover & do the PCV mod in there at the same time? It can be found at www.ls1howto.com
You'll get all the gaskets & seals needed new with the cover.
The oil will still mist & collect in that portion of the engine. Do you have an oil consumption issue also?
