Has anyone here had a problem with passing smog with Long Tube headers?
Im think of getting LT headers for my GTO but they arent smog legal

 

if you get a Y with cats you'll pass the sniffer, but not the visual.

 

 

Im pretty sure it will pass the sniffer. I was just wondering if anyone had any trouble passing visual?

 

yeah u will have trouble, just go to a dinky shop and ask if they do it and then slip him a crisp $100 and ask him if he does the visual again. repeat until he says he doesnt do the visual

 

funny thing, i brought my car to mechanic and he took it to the smog place and i passed and they dinn say one thing about my exhaust, but he did say my car was "peppy" "it might have an aftermarket cam or something" made me laugh.

 

LT's will not pass visual because the cats are moved. However most places don't even look.

 

Smog tests have got to suck. Im glad here in South Dakota we dont have them.
