Even if you did loose a little.. i would still go with the bigger header. I would give up 10hp so i didnt have to buy new headers when i upgrade the engine again.

I haven't. On the Z06 in question the 1 7/8 Kooks cost HP and Tq.... But I agree as cubes go up, 1 7/8th start making more power... For instance, on a Z06 with an MTI 427,the switch from 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 ended up picking up about 30HP.

Everything is just hearsay untill you see a graph. I would love to see a graph of 1 3/4 vs 1 7/8 on a h/c ls1... anyone?

My understanding on HVMC's is there could be many different types to try before you have one that is optimized for you application which means you probably need to go to the track and switch them out till you find one that works best. IMO, they could will be worth some HP/TQ properly setup on a very modded car, don't know if it's worth the $$ for most people though.

A good combo header for stock cubes using N20 would probably be 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8.

I would also like to see a graph. I'm about to take the plunge with a set of Kook's and need to know which one's to get, 1 3/4, 1 7/8, or 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8. If no one has a graph then it's just hearsay or a guess. Need some real proof.

I'll be the next to request a comparison. If some has the dyno results, PLEASE post them. That way it would help out the members who need to know before spending the big bucks on Kooks (me!) AND would finally show whether 1-3/4 is the right size or if 1-7/8 is better throughout the powerband.

Come on guys! Someone's got to have some dyno results on this!!!

If anybody has a good comparison dyno between Kooks 1-3/4" and 1-7/8" headers, please post! I will be purchasing very soon and I'm concerned about losing low-end torque. Will either header produce more torque than the stock exhaust manifolds? Or, is the problem that they lose torque below a certain rpm? Please advise!!! Thanks!
