i just got my cutout installed and recently have been hearing these popping sounds from the exhaust once i let go of the gas. its mostly on the highway. i was wondering what makes this sound and is it bad for the car? i searched around but didnt really get a direct answer. i actually like the sound, just want to make sure its not going to damage the car.

 

Nothing bad, almost all cars do it. I wouldnt worry about it unless it is severe. From what I understand when you lift off the gas the engine goes lean for a split second, just because of the lack of fuel. Causes slight detonation.

 

well it could be becuase of not enough back preasure. do you have cats or are they gutted?
