Anybody ever dyno tuned their car after installing headers and high flow cats?
Will your oxygen sensor burn out faster with headers...this will effect MPG.
Responses to above:
1. Meow this.
2. !factory exhaust manifolds !cats
3. !
4. Stand behind my car and take a whiff.

O2 sensors are easily replaced. MPG? What's that?

Welcome.

I bought the SLP Y-pipe for the lower exhaust note. Everybody has their own dreams and wants for their car. Playing around with your emmisons can lead to shitty gas mileage. I have seen 28.5 MPG on mine as is....Oh and before you flame me about I should have bought a Honda if I wanted gas mileage...my daily driver is a 2004 VW Passat TDI Diesel 39 MPG highway.

Is a tune on headers neccesary or beneficial?

How much should I expect to pay to get a tune for just the headers?

Does anybody here run their headers untuned?

I lost at least two MPG just by installing KOOKS S/S headers. Gained about 17 HP peak and lost about the same under 3,500 RPM

There are drawbacks.

You will hear more valvetrain noise....guaranteed. EASY possibility of exhaust leak somewhere in the Y-pipe. A lot of guys have Y-pipe banging problems. If you go True Duals most will be very low to the ground.

I love my headers and would do them again but to say there are no drawbacks is wrong. My 2 cents.

Theres tons of guys with headers untuned-a tune after ANY mod is beneficial its nto necessary but it will ALWAYS help-the tune after headers is about the same as ANY tune lol really makes no difference...they really just play with your A/F ratio and mayb some timing? if you have an auto they may remove torque management, to frim up shift points and such-

all in all a TUNE IS VERY AFFECTIVE!

Quick question about the valvetrain noise.... will the longtubes give me that "cackling" exhaust note that i'm looking for? My ls1's already cammed and i want my corsa exhaust to have that old musclecar sound (like my old dodge).

When I go wot at 40mph , it drops really hard into first and shifts into second hard too.
I love the exhaust note and it pulls really hard in the upper RPMs. Definetly worth buying. Also for emissions ask a few shops that do inspections to see if it will pass the visual.
