Default ok what the hell, no one has this...help!!!!!

i am installing a random tech catback system for my car. the y pipe is about .5-1" shorter than the pipe that is going to connect to it. NO muffler, auto store, or hardware store has a pipe that will fit over the end of my y pipe and into my 3" system, what the hell is this about and how do i fix it.

If the catback absolutely will not fit, go to just about any exhaust shop w/ the pipes in question and have a short pipe made.

the exhaust system will fit, and it does, the pipe just needs about 3 inches more to it so i can fit it over the y pipe end.

i called 8 places, not one of them can do this. so what i'm doing is cutting a 3-4" section off my old i pipe and putting it over the end of the y pipe, then putting the 3" pipe over it and clamping it down

Any decent exhaust shop could have welded on a segment for you. If they would have charged you more than $20 it would have been too much.
