Yeah, I have an 1otl catback. It looks like a v6 camaro on steroids. I am gonna try duals. If theyre too loud Im gonna make a 4" 1otl catback with a 9" round trash can ultraflo muffler.
Yes, it's true, I like the sound of the 2OTL more. The true duals were great, but this setup is deep, throaty and smooth while not being too loud. Makes me smile when I get on it. The TD's were too loud and had awful clearance. I even tamed them down by going from Flowtech Afterburners to Magnaflow 4x9's (which worked). But I moved to a snooty area where neighbors aren't too tolerant, so off it went. If they (the new neigbors) **** me off, I could always open the cutouts at 3am .

Nice choice on the exhaust set up. I wish I had something similar.

I don't know how you could give up the TD magnaflow setup, it is the best exhaust I have heard on an fbody. I hope it doesn't get to much louder with cam.
Did you go with a spool, posi or locker in your moser 9 inch?

I've forgotten to mention; the main reason why I had to ditch the duals is that I couldn't make it up my new house's driveway, which has a sharp pitch at the street. The car would bottom out with the TD's. While the QTP Dual Elec. cutout ORY is no clearance champion either, it offers me just enough clearance to clear the driveway pitch.
As for the magna TD sound, it was nice. The guy who has my old setup loves it. It sounds great even with the stock cam he's still running.

I went with a posi again due to the fact that I'll be road racing the car now. I'm seriously thinking about purchasing another center section with a locker so that I could swap them out for road course/strip duty. The posi doesn't hold up well at all to 5K clutch dumps at the strip.

If I had snooty neighbors, I would switch to TD's with bullets. Just for them. Thankfully I have NO neighbors.

Me too.
A dozen 5K clutch dumps on VHT killed the posi.

Did you have a posi or a locker? Seems like the posi's arent much stronger than the whats in the 10bolts. Either lock it or get a spool.

Yeah, a 9" with a posi is crap. Locker's the way to go for strength and streetability.
I went with another posi due to the fact I'll be taking the car on roadcourses now.

love that catback. i have the same setup. people dont realize that you can actually see right through this muffler...its a actual flow thru exhaust. what size of y-pipe are you running? i wanna fab up a 3 1/2" from the collector to the muffler with 3 1/2 cut-outs. i wonder who sells a 3 1/2 y-pipe. either way, nice setup..

Thanks. It's the standard 3" QTP dual elect. cutout Y-pipe with the 4" Flowmaster Scavenger merge collector that it comes with.

I can't find my video recorder (just moved and it's deep in a pile of boxes ). So, I recorded some clips with videophone (they do no justice at all, but at least there's a hint of what's going on).
Check out this thread I just posted.....

I hope to get some good quality clips soon.
