I took the cats off my car and i lost the plates for my borla exhaust. Dose anyone know where i can get them or a way to quiet down my loud raspy exhaust.

I'd ditch the borla if you're conserned about rasp with no cats. You could sell it for qutie a bit to someone who still has cats.

You could put a "bullet" in the I-pipe(right before the axle) and that should take care of it..I know guys that do that with the Corsa catback...and it helps.

Thats exactly what I did. When I went to longtubes/ORY, my previously beautiful sounding Borla all of a sudden sounded like ***. In my own assumption, no cat-back I could put on there would help it out, so I went true dual. NO regrets there.

I agree. True duals rasp less then any catback period.

you could put an E-cutout in place of the plates for easy adjustments

Why do these cars rasp anyway? Is it the y-pipe, The fact that it has a Ford fireing order? These cars sound odd to me. Not bad just odd. I have owned hot chevys for thirty years. And none of them ever sounded like this. Dont get me wrong I love this LS1. It is the best chevy I have owned.

The dynamics between the LS1 and SBC are definately noticeable. The SBC kinda thumps whereas the LS1 is smoother. Comparing a '90 L98, '95 LT1, and a '01 LS1 I tend to thing the frist two sound similar, but the LS1 sounds distinctly different. The exhaust are real close in design so it must be something with the design of the engine itself.
