Default Loudmouth, Rumbler Decibel Levels

Does anyone know what the decibel levels are for the loudmouth exhaust and the texas rumbler with long tube headers?

I live in California where there is a 95-decibel limit. I am interested in one of the two LT w/exhaust systems and I am very concerned about getting pulled over or watched all the time regarding my exhaust.

I dont know the numbers, but I am pretty sure its more than 95. Especially with LT's. It is called LOUDMOUTH and RUMBLER for a reason .
If I were you, I would get it, and just drive easy when around any areas where their could be cops. Keep the RPM's low, and all that. I have driven on open headers, dual exhaust, dumped exhaust, and never had a noise issue. Just be smart.
I believe to test the DB levels around here (VA), they place the DB meter 20 inches from your exhaust and you rev the engine to half its max RPM's. At least I think thats how it works.

Oh Im sure it could be louder, but with a stock Y-Pipe it is quite loud. Im sure its loud enough to warrant a ticket in California.

The Rumbler sounds great with stock manifolds, but once going with LTs...forget it. My car with QTPs and a catted Y is still a bit raspy 2200 rpm and conversations while accelerating at half throttle are a joke. Hooker is going on the car this week.

Thanks all for the much respected input. I have a better idea now on what i will end up doing. However, im still curious about one question that no one answered. What decibel levels do the Loudmouth put out and what levels do the Rumbler put out. I was never worried about the loud noises that either system placed out. I guess because I am used to being around the loud cars and i've given up on talking on the phone while driving.

I just want to know decibel levels so I know if im going to have an endlesss battle with law enforcement or not.

thanks

Hey, thanks for the list. Very informative. Do you know where the Loudmouth, Loudmouth 2 and Rumbler fit in that list?

Talking Loudmouth

Not too sure about the rumbler, but I have the loudmouth system with a SLP Y-Pipe. I also live in california with the 95 db limit and at idle I was putting out 92 db, 104 db at 2500 rpm and 124 db at 5000 rpm. I have yet to get a ticket, just take it easy when in an area where cops like to hang out. Keep rpms low and you will have no problems unless the cop has nothing better to do than pull you over and give you a noise pollution ticket..... lol

I had Loudmouth for about a year. I loved it, there was nothing like sounding like a NASCAR when going under an overpass.

But with headers and an ORY I had to change it up, I added the longer Dynomax muffler, and I am not to happy with it.......too quiet. I like cars loud.....but I think a cam will help me out so I don't wanna mess with it.

The car sounds great.......It is basicly a LM2 or a Rumbler.....a bit raspy....more than LM with stock Y, but I like it. Very loud though.....much more than 95db I think only Flowmaster is less than that.

What about the little *** holes in ther Supras and Hondas? Do they not get pulled over Fast and the Furious style?
