nope.....I got about 6-8 months before my Jet Hot started to rust.......and I live in AZ...the land of 364 days a year of sun.......don't see how they could ever hold up anywhere else.....

My Jet hot coated Mac headers on my Firebird are fine so far after 1 year, but we don't have hardly any road salt or harsh winters here in New Mexico...

Yeah I love how they say space age material-Hell I haven't seen any rusted shuttles, but my longtubes sure rusted. like you said pulling the headers and sending them out and paying for shipping to have them re-coated ins't worth the time or effort. Mine started rusting 5-6 months after I put them on-the left held up pretty well even through winter-it just had some surface rust, but the passenger side rusted ud and flaked off during the summer-I was very pissed off-Never again will i buy from Jet Hot for their coating, its not worth the extra money. I see Edelbrock has some new coating on their longtubes, that might hold up well

Question

But the general consensus is that the headers will still work fine and won't affect performance if they are fairly rusted out? OK, maybe I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here since they were just put on, but I drive this car every damn day and it will sit outside every damn night here in this super Chicagoland area...

I honestly don't care if they do rust out over time because this ain't a show car or anything, but as long as they will still do the job without much of that coating on them I'll run them forever on this car! Definitely don't feel like having to replace them with stainless Kooks someday after spending all this money right now...

Thanks for all the replies,

Mike

I wouldn't worry, even if they start to show surface rust they should still work fine (unless they rust completely THROUGH the metal).

I've had mine on for almost 2 years and they still look good.

I'm in Texas.

Mine started rusting last summer after I had to drive it through the winter.

I've had my car for almost 2 years now. Daily driver, has seen snow, ice, salt, rain, etc. and my Jet Hots still look decent. Some discoloration near the crevices and on the bottem but no deteriation of the coating or metal.
