Polishing my TB

Is there a way that I can polish my TB. I have a dremel, is there a polishing wheel that I can buy that will work on aluminum? Should I get some sort of polishing compound?

are you referring to the inside or outside of the tb? have you ported the inlet yet? if not....why polish it? only gonna get ruined when it gets ported. yes, dremel has plenty of polishing wheels and its own compound you can get at any hardware store, or you can get better stuff at specialty shops that will be better, but more involved and slight more difficult to work with. all depends on what you want your final product to look like.

You can get a very nice hand polish using Mother's aluminum polish, once you have most of the imperfections smoothed out.

What do you use to remove the inperfections? Can anyone give a step-by-step guide to getting a nice polish on the outside of the throttle body?

I didn't polish my TB, but I have polished other things before. You can use a dremel with one of the polishing wheels (looks like a big squared-off Q-tip end) and some of thir polishing compound. It works really well. It just does not have enough coverage to do the entire TB...it would take a long time...but if you were really bored...

I just did my MAF and you'll need to do a few steps of sand paper to remove all the casting marks. Once I got it all smooth I used the dremmel polishing compound. It turned out ok but not great. I may need to try a different compound
