Which intake: Fast 90mm or GMPP w/ 90mm
Guys, I will be putting my motor back together which consists of a stock bottom end 346 with home ported 5.3 litre heads milled .030" producing about 11.5-11.7 to 1 compression after flycuts with a 239/246 .651"/.613 106lsa 106icl cam. I will be spinning to about 6800. I will then eventually build a 408 combo as I have an order with ape right now. I will spin this to 7500-8000 depending on my sb component selection. The 408 with have a huge solid cam (.750+ lift, 265+ duration at .050").
What intake setup do you think would be more beneficial for both setups. Probably the fast/90 for the 346 and gmpp/90 for the 408 right? Here is a link to the setup with the gmpp/90.

Let me know what your thoughts are.

well, with a carb, Hot Rod or PHR picked up hp over an LS6 intake I think (I think they tested a carb/GMPP and carb/Edel. set up against a stock LS6 crate). I'll have to dig up the article. They also stated that the more narrow your LSA, the better it will perform with the short runners.
EDIT: Found the article. On a stock LS1 w/ Hookers and 3" mufflers (LS6 intake) the GMPP setup make the same HP (430) and 5 less ft. lbs. (420 vs. 425).
They changed to LS6 springs and made 454hp. So maybe the key to the intake is RPM...but its good to know you won't lose anything between the two.
