Default IAT Mod??

I was reading about this free mod and wondering if this is really worth it. I know this is a debate, but is there anyone who has done it and has positive/negative feedback? I live in the Northwest where it is generally mild. Typically ranges from 40-80 degrees year-round. Thanks for any feedback.

If you are talking about the mod that tricks the computer into thinking that it is bringing in colder air then it is def. not worth it... and more importantly it is stupid.

I disagree.

IAT (!TT) mod is a great way to increase the timing at the track.

I don't recommend it for all the time use though..

Im pretty sure they are talking about putting a resistor in the sockets for the IAT sensor plug. It supposedly tricks the PCM into thinking that the air temp is something like 55*F all the time, making the computer add timing throughout the RPM band if Im not mistaken. really only works if the ambient air temp is above 55* obviously.

Do not do it. Get a proper tune using LS1 Edit or HP tunners. This mod tricks the computer into thinking it is colder and therefore adds more timming.

Exactly, which doesn't do much of **** unless u're tuned for it.

ugg. IMO with stock tuning is where you would want to use it more.

When I race, I want max timing. !TT is a quick and easy way of doing that, no matter what "tune" is on the car.

But of course, I also believe proof is in the numbers (ET and MPH), not what "I think"
