Cut out question

Cut out question Hey guys, my current exhaust consists of jet hot headers, y-pipe (even though its more of a T) and a flowmaster muffler. Now i figure your first response is new muffler, but i enjoy the sound and think id benefit more from a new y-pipe and cut out. So my question is if i get a Mufflex Y that has the 4inch collector, should i get a 4inch cut out or just go with a 3inch a little further down the pipe? My car is also lowered a bit, so ground clearance is a small issue and the QTP 4inch cut out is about $60 more than the 3inch.

Im trying to sqeeze whatever power i can out of the exhaust, and with the crappy y-pipe design and muffler i thought this would be a good spot for improvement. Also with the cut out i could stay somewhat quiet when i needed to. I was really just curious if there would be better gains with a 4inch cut out instead of a 3 after the Y, or would it be overkill.
