Default ultra z hood; modify

hey, i have an ultra z hood and before i get into a lid (yes, i do have a stock lid still!!!), i wanted to know if anyone had modified the hood for more air flow, modified a lid or made a custom kit to have better/more air flow or a combination of the two?

Also, i say this stealth intake with a larger, c4 filter. AMde some pretty sweet numbers, has anyone dealt with one?

basically, i want to feed the 408 as much air as possible and optimize the ram air effect of the hood.

any suggestions, comments, flames.

Take a look at the K&N FIPK of the Volant Cold Air Induction.

the lt1 style ws6 box might work for ya. it sits on top of the radiator with an open element facing up. i dont know if the ultra z hood has provisions to seal up to that style air box.

Use the WS-6 airbox and cut the baffles in the hood to match up.

Get a lid, and remove any rubber piece is between the lower air box and the sheet metal just below it. A WS6 lower airbox will provide a larger gap between the metal and lower airbox, but not enough that I would think it would make a difference.
