Good luck, I helped my friend put his QTPs on last night, VERY easy install, I was stunned with how nicely they slid up and tucked in there (only previous header install was helping an LT1, I'd rather perform brain surgery on myself than do that again...). Fire it with open headers too, blows all that crap out of the headers (we didn't want it clogging up the cats). I'm sure he'll chime in at some point.

I won't be able to put my headers in because my y pipe is welded into my i, and I need those cut to get the old stock system out. I'm putting Jet Hot LT's and Jet Hot y.

it should be fairly easy to get done. i put my QTP's in myself with some help from my uncle. just make sure you get the nose up enough to get the clearence need. i would start with the back bolt once you get them in place.

just finished my QTP install (with lastcall190) very suprised at how well everything went together. make sure you have a buddy to help you with the y pipe. with 2 guys its easy, by yourself - impossible.

i had a shop put mine on because part of the i-pipe was in the way of the collectory. i also had them weld the reducer to the collector and i-pipe

starting back up tomorrow...ran into some snags, broken spark plug wire, had to get new ones (took 2 hours) ran out of daylight, and when i was putting up the driver side header i realized i have to take the oil filter off, in which means ill have to change my oil, and so on...so i just put it off till tomorrow...were gonna record the install, just parts of it, and get acouple of sound clips, and have all that done by tomrrow...

You can just put that filter back on and then top off the oil instead of changing it if you already changed it recently.

Starting it and letting it warm up a bit without the 02 sensors is good advice, I think half the ses light problems are from the 02s getting contaminated on intial start up.

Oil filter, plug wires, that's it. Went in with a touch more difficulty than the pass. side, but that's not saying much because the passenger side could've probably been put in with eyes closed. It's a little more awkward of a fit, if you have someone to help, have them stand above and eyeball it to help guide it in.

it should just slide in from underneath. you'll have to wiggle to get it in, but you should have to move anything except for the plugs and wires.

yea slide it in there and i think you have to stand the header up vertical to get it to slide in, should not really run into anything with it

steering shaft, little cover by the oil filter, 2 10mm bolts I think. That might help.

I have a question for everyone, is the exhaust manifold clamped onto the stock y pipe or welded? Cause I could ALWAYS try to just put the headers on myself, and have a shop install the y pipe and cutout and have everything welded. The header part they will charge me the most for. The hard part is finding time out of my day, and if I have to cut it, I dont' have anything to cut it with. I'll just run open headers when I install them Do the headers have to have a certain torque screw locking? Or do they just go in as tight as possible?
