Installing E-Cutout
My question is a pretty simple one. I am installing my electric cutout and i need to decide where to put the switch. I was thinking of putting it in the place of my cigarette lighter, but i would need some sort of cover or plate for the opening to make it smaller. Then i was gonna run the power through the lighters power supply and get rid of the lighter. Does anyone know where i can get a plate or cover for the lighter. So that i can drill a small hole in it and run the switch through it? Or does anyone have a better idea for a palce to put the switch and run the power to.

I put mine in the ashtray. I did not cut up the ashtray, I just took it out and made up a little swith holder. I don't smoke, so I dont need the tray. It works sweet, and the switch is right there easy to use. Close the ashtray lid and nobody knows any different.
Has anybody run the cutout wiring through somewhere without having to cut the floorboard? I ran mine up through the shifter boot, but would like to have a cleaner looking install.
Does anybody have the install instructions for the QTP electric cutout? I bought mine used and did'nt get the instructions.

Yeah, i have the instructions and they suggest running the wiring through the shifter area or through the water drain plug. I have only seen the one drain plug where the spare tire goes, but i havent really looked yet. There are probably some closer to the front than that.

since my car did not come equipped with power windows or locks, I've decided to mount the switch where the lock/window switch would be. Although I do not have it yet, this will also be the place where I mount my NO2 arming switch....one day....

I ran my wiring through the rubber piece under the pass. side rear seat and put the switch at the front of the console, where the console ends. I just left a little slack so the switch has some room to move. I didn't want to cut anything, and it's down right by my knee for easy access.
