Default Why do so many want the loudmouth????

the loudmouth is known for its unbearable drone and annoying raspiness. yet i still see a lot of people wanting them. i must admit, i am considering it cuz of its simplicity and light weight. but i know it sounds horrible w/o cats. so im still leaning towards the hooker cuz of that. but something keeps pulling me towards the loudmouth. why do so many people want them when everyone knows of the reputation they have??

Just throw on a set of high flow cats and it sounds really nice. I love it because it's loud and makes the car sound pretty sick, especially with a cam

When I bought mine, I wanted a very loud exhaust and it was also the least expensive.
You could always just invest in a cut out which I read don't cost much and open and close it when you wanted.

When my car was still bone stock, the loudmouth was perfect. But when I but headers and ORY, it turned into ****.

If you plan to stay stock other than catback, go loudmouth. If you plan on LT headers and ORY, go with a muffler catback and a cutout. Done.

loudmouth is cheap, gives good hp gains on stock cars, and is light. it does turn to crap when you do ory and longtubes. i have it now and im goin to duals.

I have no regrets about my Loudmouth. The sound is amazing....much better than my Flowmaster I had on before. Makes a cool gurgle at low RPMs, and just screams at high RPMs. I really don't think its that loud. I don't notice any drone on the highway or anything...maybe I've just gotten used to it.
I get in other people's cars with stock exhausts and I wonder why its so quiet.

whenever i rev up near people they say it sounds like a nascar racecar. the drone does kick in at about 80+ mph but the radio cures that

If you want a cat back get a Hooker. If you want a LM save a few hundred and get a cutout instead... same thing.

I have it, and I'm pretty happy with it. I think it sounds great with LT's + cats and a loping cam.

Mainly I bought it when stock because it was loud and it was cheap. But its also a good 20lbs or so lighter than a mufflered catback and flows the best (though not much power difference vs. say a magnaflow).

Loudmouth sounds like SH*T w/ lt's even with cats its completely unrefined. The Loudmouth 2 is far more superior but SLP Claims 5 hp loss, some "KIDS" see loudmouth and see 25 hp gain and think holy crap. They think nothing of Longtubes or any other kind of header because they are not advertised as much as Mufflers and Catback systems alone are. That and the marketing gimic "if you want the LOUDEST and MEANEST sounding "EXHAUST" out there loudmouth is the way to go." This also leads others to think that this is all they can do for exhaust, or atleast those who know nothing about modified cars, That and EMMISSIONS!

The only times i've heard loudmouth sound really nice-sounding much like the 60's-70's cars was with a lopey cam and CATs...and that sounds better then stock headers cats internals and LM-removed cats while the rest is stock and LM sounds pretty good as well w/ a cam

That is all, its preference, knowledge, and advertisement that bring it to such great popularity.

its cheap, stainless, sounds great on stock cars with the cats, and also has great flow.
