I ordered QTP the otherday. They are on sale so it was an easy choice.

both headers are the same.. but I've heard crap about QTP's ypipe? I had a good friend that had a lot of problems with it and he listed a post and about a dozen other people had the same problems fitting it. Do a search on the QTP ypipe before you buy it to see what others had to say. I never had any problems with my kooks ypipe..

thats the thread my friend posted. I guess it was only a problem with the catted y-pipe. It seems if you are doing a ORY then the QTP y-pipe is fine

That was from an incorrect install. We have so many of them out there and no issues. Its not any easy install but done correctly, tucks up perfectly.

We are having a sale till the 31st, so get em while they are on sale.

Kooks and our headers are based off the old grotyohan design header so we are similar.

my QTP headers and catted Y are fine...the drivers side catt is alil low but big deal...your gonna have less clearence with any 3'' Y you put under there, expecially if your compairing it to the stock Y...and add a catt to the Y and the clearence is even a tad less, but that should be expected...all in all there both great systems, so get what makes you giggle...

Yeah, I wasn't talking about fit. I did have to mess with mine adjusting it and readjusting it for about 4 hours to get it to fit the way I wanted. I was talking about performance, it's hard to beat the performance of a flowmaster 4" merge, other than with true duals of course.

Some are impressed with Dyno numbers, but I'am interested in real world 1/4 mile track results.

Anyone compared Kooks vs QTP on the same car, same track and similar track conditions?

QTPs is what i chose...
I got the QTPs because of their HV collectors and true merge collector on the Y pipe...and i also got the QTEC with it too

I would say go with the cheaper ones because both are great. But I just installed Kooks LT's today and it feels like I gained about 25 HP from them and my exhaust, it sounds great too . No clearance issues either fit pretty dang good. I'm gonna have to go on the Dyno next weekend

if your gonna throw an 80 on there just do the cats and a better flowing muffler... atleast youll pass emissions....

i dont like cats personally they make me

I do like the qtp merge collector and their ORY setup for cutouts....

qtp is my vote.... unless kooks is more than 75$ cheaper at the time.

Ive had the 80 series on my car for a long time. Thing is i also have had a open cutout fot the same time , so I have never heard the sound of the Flowmaster. I figured it would quiet the LT's down a bit cause I decided against cats. Ill be doing LT's with ORY to a flowmaster.

easy choice, qtp. as to the issue with catted y pipes from qtp, there is none, my y pipe went in easier and tucks up better then the $750 corsa sysem that comes after it.

My choice would be kooks, and get this... because I like the kooks y-pipe better. Mainly because the driver's side pipe is ovaled a little and provides 'stock like' ground clearance.

The only real difference in the standard systems is the y pipe. QTP has a nicer merge collector and their cat is set further back for clearance (I assume) reasons, Kooks cats are right after the header which would make them work a little better. Service from both is good although I am slightly biased toward QTP since they are selling their headers direct. Matt at TTP has good prices on the Kooks and several have commented here about his good service.
