Default Pacesetter LT's installed

I just finished the install today and WOW I've never seen headers fit so well and easily on a car. I didn't take anything out except for plugs, and if I did it over again, I probably could have just left them in to save time. The passenger side slid up nearly without touching anything, and the driver's side slid up easily with a little coaxing but not enough to scrape the coating. My jack would only get the wheels maybe 7 or 8 inches off the ground, and I thought for sure I'd have to tilt the motor some to get the headers in, but never did. For the money, you can't beat these headers for fit and finish and ease of install.

BTW, I will have pics but am waiting for my true duals from Lane to come and will be driving open headers between now and then... I will post pics of the whole setup, and I took some pics of the stock exhaust with a coke can, so it should be really easy to compare ground clearance from stock to 3" duals.

just make sure to remove any surface rust that starts to want to build up every month or so.

I just used a set of socket wrenches and crescents that just about anyone has in their garage. A set of gear wrenches would have been nice I suppose, but I wouldn't call them a must. However those pivoting socket bits can come in handy. The jack I used was just a regular Mac 2.5 ton that can go to maybe 18 or 19", and I jacked the car about as high as the jack could go and used 6 ton stands. Really a very straight foward project. I honestly had a harder time changing plugs and wires than getting the headers in.

I tried to put my pacesetter LT's in today, how did you get all those bolts out of the stock maniflods? I need to get my car on jackstands for a week to work on all my mods.

Mine came out fairly easily. I didn't use any Silicone or WD-40 either, but there may be some cars that need it.

Truthfully, the car feels like it lost some low end and didn't gain a whole lot above that, but I'm running open headers right now. The car was also running poorly and misfiring from a bad o2 sensor. I just now fixed that by swapping one of my other o2's in. I haven't really got on it enough to get a real good feel... yet.

I just use some aluminum polish to get surface rust off.

I use some stuff called extreme metal polish. I never heard of the stuff. It kinda looks like never dull. One of my friends that works at the local speed shop told me that it works really good for coated headers. And I can't complain made my headers look brand new.

PB Blaster works great for loosening rusted or tight bolts.

did u have to extend ur o2 sensors ...... im under the impression that u dont have to due to the o2s being on the inside of the header instead of the outside .... isnt that why they moved it ... just woundering cause my pacesetters should be in the mail any day now thanks
