Default Egr Issues

So lastnight im out racing...car is really strong as usual no problems. I stop to let someone out at their house and I get an SES Light! I check the code this morning and its a P104 or p1104. It says my Egr in innoperable. I have a 2000 z and i planned on doing the removal and block off when i do headers, but i might as well just do it now. So who can i get the block off plates from and does install university have a good write up on it or should i go with someone elses? Any help/Hints are very appreciated.

I believe the install university write up is for the free mod where you cut about 1/2 in off the end. However it does explain how to remove it.

Yank that stuff off of there. LS1Speed.com has the blockoffs for $15 bucks. It really cleans things up in there when its gone.

I made my block off plates and used a freeze plug for the intake. Cost me around 3 dollars and some change being the metal was just laying around.

Not sure if that writeup covers it, but there should be some side instructions on how to do the EGR blockoff on an LS6 intake as well (being that it connects differently).

The LS6 doesn't come with EGR, unless its SLP's.

So one more question. If I remove the egr system without a programmer or ls1edit to delete it from the computer will it mess up driveability and performance or just throw a light? I read the writeup and it says it will just throw a code but will not hurt performance.

P.S. If anyone is selling edit or a programmer pm me.

That's what I'm saying, since the purpose of a writeup is to cover all bases.

It won't hurt performance. It just recirculates exhaust gas to be further burned, aka reducing emissions. So, the worst case scenario is that you have worse emissions, no effect on performance.
