Firebird Side Exhaust Idea

Firebird Side Exhaust Idea
I did a search and havn't found any posts on this. That means either no one has thought of it or it is a bad idea.
You know those two grills between the front wheel and the door? Has anyone tried sending exhaust out of those? I don't know that they do anything right now (I dislike vents with no purpose) and they are right next to the engine bay, so there wouldn't be a lot of piping to route. You might have to figure something out to keep them from melting the plastic though.
Anybody tried this? Let me know what you think.

agreed. and if my exhaust is any indicator, it would get crap and soot all over the sides of your car. interesting concept though.

The vent might be there to extract heat.
I think that would be sweet for a all out drag car, but not for a street car. You might choke with the windows down, lol. Sounds like a lot of bends too.

It really would make more sense for a drag car not using cats or muffs. I've been thinking about how to fit those in there, and even with the smallest I could find, I would still have to loop it around under the car between the wheels so far back that it would just make more sense to have normal side exits. Too bad I havn't seen a in-front-of-rear-wheel side exhaust yet that doesn't cost some ground clearance. I've though of exiting out the rear wheelwell too.
Also, I took a good look at where these vents in front of the door are. I would probably have to modify the footboard area of the front seats, but I still think it could be done.

Most of the touring cars and JGTC cars have there exhaust like that right infront of the door. Loud as hell and buy the end of the race the side of the car is black
