Why are more people not running the GMPP intake?

Its an FI setup...but an 4-hole is not that much taller...especially if you trim a little and do not run a spacer or plate N2O setup. The space issue is an air filter issue.

that picture of the masaccured cowl, isnt exactly correct. that fits under the stock hood, and requires only slight notching of the cowl aera.
I plan on getting one of those for my car.

Anyone else? I can see why the 90* elbow and LSx style TB would be a restriction due to the hard turn, but a 4 bbl tb on this intake would flow like gangbusters.....

I have just had the GMPP manifold and 4 barrel TB put on the LS1 in my 34 ford.
I had no issues with cowls or height obviously but wanted a more traditional look.
The motor is a stock '00 with custom 4->1 headers and a free flowing exhaust. Car runs in SD.
After some fiddling it made 15 hp more above 5000rpm and around 3-5hp less from about 4000 rpm down. It had an LS1 manifold to start with not an LS6.
The way the curve turns at 5000 I would expect the manifold is looking for a lot more cubes, head and cam than the stock motor delivers. This is part of a longer term plan.
The 4 barrel TB offers a lot more progressive throttle response than the stock TB.
Hope this helps as I was struggling to find any info prior to the swap.

Im have one of these intakes, with an elbow that was custom fabbed to clear the cowl of a F-body. I am hoping that it work as well as I am expecting it to. I am going to be running it on FI, so the added flow and volume of air allowded will just be amplified for me

Thats the wilson elbow with a ford 105mm TB right?
Nice setup, I dont like the fact you have to cut the cowl though, the one I have you do not have to do that with, it is however sheetmetal.

Yes, it is but the TB is actually a 90mm unit. The elbow and manifold can be cut down further to fit under the cowl. This was my first time dealing with this kind of setup and I wasn't sure how far I should mill the pieces ... more can be milled safely.
