Question Filling t/b holes?????

Ok so im gonna try to fill my t/b holes and yes i did a search but was hoping for some answers from some who have actually done it. Im 99% sure on JB weld unless theres some reason i shouldnt. I figured id use sand paper to rough up the surface then clean with brake clean or alcohol for a good stick.
I have 2 main questions:

1. Has anyone who has actually done this had problems with idle and what was done to fix this?

2. Are you guys using 1 or 2 holes. Lookes like the 2 orifices could use one hole but i dunno?

3. Ive been told to use a straw. Can anyone inform me of the straw method. What size? How to? Etc?

4. Also, has anyone had the jbweld or whatever they used actually break off the t/b or anything like that? Im trying to determine if this is really worth it.

Thumbs down

DON'T use JB Weld! When I *tried* to fill my tb the JB oozed into all the ports , around all the corners, I had to take every bit of it out. You can't try to let it set up before you put in becasuse it gets pasty and won't work, plus it doesn't stick well no matter how good you sand. You need to pony up some money and buy the Shaner S3. It is a work of art!!! Worth the money, CNC ported to perfection and filled perfectly and will never seperate. Worth every penny.

I was under the impression there were more than 1 kind of JB weld and that one was a thicker paste like substance that wouldnt do what happened to you. However, i will take what you said into consideration. Any others?

Bondo. Have it in mine going on over a year. Didn't use a straw either. Filled the whole thing(gap) up with bondo. Sanded it smooth. Drilled 2 holes and used a compressor to clean out all the mess.

Bondo seems like it runs a higher risk of chipping or breaking off. It doesnt seem like the finish would be as smooth either. But i dunno thats why im open to all suggestions.

I used to use JB Weld in the tb's I ported, it works fine. But, I technically used "JB Stick" which is like a putty. You mix it up and have 3-5 minutes to set it. Then I just drilled the holes.

However, I don't fill tb's anymore for the ones I do for local friends(only ones I do now). As Bo and Ron@GMMG have found...no need to fill them anymore. Not really a huge gain as was once thought.

JB Stick doesn't polish up too well tho, thats the downside. Not a high metal content, but if you prep the surface well and its roughed up and clean, its not going anywhere.

That is pretty much what i needed to hear, looks like it may not be worth the effort, and after porting the t/b ill know that if it idles oddly that has nothing to do with it.
