I have not heard many others and have the hooker. It got very loud after adding headers and cam. I ended up adding bullets in the tailpipes to make it quiet enough for daily driving. And yes, I do have cats.
If I were to change I may go with the dual/dual. I posted on this before and got good responses on the dual/dual.
I also have the quad CME(center mount exhaust), which may make it louder??
My setup without the bullets may be perfect for many others. It was louder than I wanted. With stock manifolds the hooker sounded perfect.
LS1 sounds is great but you need to hear them in person to really know.
Good Luck!!

The magnaflow catback uses a small crossflow muffler. If you use the dynomax 3" ipipe and go with a 1oftl style catback and use a much bigger magnaflow muffler. It wont be so loud and less raspy. It should flow just as good.

The SLP Dual-dual muffler is by far the quietest muffler out there without compromising flow. I've heard it on a large cammed engine with LTs and an ORY and it was just barely louder than stock at idle. Even when you revved it, it still was not loud at all.
Here's a clip of it on an LS1 with LTs and a catted Y (but with an ORY like I've heard, it wasn't noticeably louder at all:

You have to look into the ATR Pitbull!!! I ran this on my car for a long time till some animal hit it and cracked it. It was very mild, and it is stright through!!! literally... it flows within 99.9% of a straight pipe, but it is not loud at all..... until u floor it. When you floor it... you can definitely tell it flows straight through. It is sweet as hell, I wished there was a soundclip of it, but do a search for ATR PITBULL, there is a pic on here with a guy holding up the muffler, you see straight through to the other side. Check them out.
