Default installing hooker lt

i just purchased a set of hooker lts for my 02 z28 and was wondering how difficult it is to install in the garage and if possible?? any links on how to or the required tools to do the job right?? thanks for any help given

It's pretty basic, just time consuming. We actually found it easiest to jack up one side of my car at once when we did them (used 6 ton jack stand 3 ton are to short). The tools that are the biggest help are racheting wrenches (mainly 10mm), long handle flex head 3/8" ratchet, and a 3/8" swivel. You'll also probrably want a 10mm stubby wrench to get the last bolt on the passanger side coil pack off, it's not nessesary but it makes it easier.

mine went pretty easy, pass side went the easiest. and on the ds we had to do a lil banging, and used a dremel to cutoff part of the casting block.

Just curious, I haven't gotten under my car and looked, but what the hoohah does the casting block look like? I'd hate to go grinding on something important like a sensor housing.

when me and my buddies installed the hookers on my 00 Z. it look pretty hard. but with all the knowledgable people here it helped alot. we had to put the jacks on top of some wood to get that extra clearance. we had to remove the trans dipstick, and the oil filter. and that small block piece is on the driver side. we used a sawzell to get it off. i aint gonna lie. i got scared when we ran into. other than that it took us 8 hrs to get the whole thing done. this is with also screwing off at the same time. good luck

yea, its just a lil piece sticking out. youll know what it is, as it will be in your way. its nothing important at all.

You may also find the turning the steering wheel, may make it easier to install the driver side. To get the steering knuckle out of the way.

Any pics or advise on the banging y pipe problem with them? I have the hooker setup with ory, hooker catback and CME. Mine bangs like hell under WOT. I'm sure its causing false knock. I've read a bunch of remedies but I would love to see a pic.

I had Hooker LT's, ORY, and catback.....never had any banging issues.

The install wasn't half as hard as i thought it would be. It was my first time ever doing headers, and i did it by myself. Jacked ther car up in the driveway and did it over a weekend.

I installed these this weekend. It wasnt fun, but It wasnt horribly bad. I removed the steering knuckle completely. That part that gets in the way is right over the filter. You can unbolt it, but you will lose a little oil. The car sounds gret through a stock muffler(98 TA WS6 single outlet) I'm installing a cutout next, then G5X3

I have no banging issues, but the muffler is a little higher than before.
