Default Is the LS1 intake a wet design?

Does the LS1 intake have coolant passages in it?

Trying to pinpoint a coolant leak for a friend. Im an LT1 guy.

He is getting coolant from the tranny area and his clutch is slipping...

Makes me think freeze plugs. Anyone had any issues with installing heads causing freeze plug issues?

Nope. BTW, wet verses dry has to do with fuel flowing through it (wet has fuel flowing through it dry does not). Well, that is my understanding anyway. But the ls family intakes do not have coolant flowing through them.

Make sure you put the gaskets back in the coolant crossover or plug depending on what year your car is. These are the oval looking things that protrude from the top of the head and are held down by a 10 mm stud looking bolt. They are in the front of the heads and the back. In my 2001 I have a cross over in front and plugs in the back.

Yep, when i did my ls6 intake swap i had to pull off the coolant crossover tubes and the old rubber o-rings stuck to the heads.
