Hows it going man? Yeah its going to improve performance, your going to gain around 8 to 10rwhp with it. The gains increase as you mod as well. A heads/cam car will gains around 25rwhp with a cutout. So yeah man, go for it.

You will like the sound as well. There will be drone inside the car. For the money you really can beat the gains from a cut out. With a FRA+LID & cut-out I gained solid .2 tenths at the track. Have a manuaul one welded in the I pipe under the passeger seat. You should not need to jack up you car to cap it up, at least I don't and I don't have long arms. I figure I would wait to spend the money on a nice cat-back until I get LT.

yes you will gain hp and tq AFTER 3000 rpms. i had a single 3" cutout in the stock i pipe. i gained zero in the 1/4 though. so, i went with the bassani tru-dual system.

Now here's results of my exhaust endeavors. This is with 200 n2o.
distance ---stock ----- cutout --- Bassani
60ft ------ 1.987 ------ 2.074 ----- 1.969
1/8 ------- 7.902 ----- 7.912 ------ 7.739
mph ------- 93.20 ----- 93.97 ----- 98.60
1/4 ------- 12.102 ---- 12.080 ---- 11.814
mph ------ 117.12 ---- 118.06 ---- 121.35

I run a stock Z28 exhaust with cutout. Gives me a consistant .15 and 2mph in the 1/4. Great results for the $$

as you can see, on a stock application, or very moderate output, they are fine. it's when you get into some more serious power, is where it starts to become a hindrance as in my application.

LMAO! I don't consider my car "stock application, or very moderate output"

Love my single 3" cutout, works great, took me into the 10's with a naturally aspirated 346

You only gained .02 over stock with a cutout? You are the exception.

And the "very moderate output" statement What are your times WITH a 200 shot again?

yes, i am always the exception.

before you try to scoff at my times with n2o, you might want to see all the supporting mods that go along with it. 11.81 @ 121.35 only a tenth behind you. but, i have 8 mph on you as well. we'll see what my new times are with the Yank PY3400E converter i just put in.
and as you can see, the stock y-pipe and 3" cutout, just couldn't CUT it. i kill me!!!!
oh well all of you enjoy your cutouts. i just report what happened to me is all. maybe it was the QTP electric cutout blade restricting me

thanks, i'm here all week 10s NA 346 with a cutout is very good.

my stock manifolds, stock cats, and stock exhaust got me to 11.97. what's your point? wonder how much quicker you could be with a dual exhaust???

maybe it was the removal of the stock y-pipe that was the restriction. after all, in your case, i'm sure you have headers, no cats, and no factory y-pipe with that 10 second timeslip and single 3" cutout right?

My point? You are still trying to use the same old bad data to support "your facts".

You got me though.. my car only went 12.07 @ 111 through the stock manifolds, cats, y-pipe and a single 3" cutout.... but, I did it with a completely stock long block and naturally aspirated

the data isn't bad. it's what can happen when you use a cutout. most people gain a tenth. good deal. ive seen it happen here locally. and i've stated many times. i gained 11/13 on the dyno AFTER 3000 rpms. that must be good data. after all it matches what everone else gets. i've done several runs with it open which all of them resulted in 2.0x 60fts. when closed, i went back to 1.9x 60fts. it's what happened to me. and can happen to others. my best guess/reason for it could be because of using the stock converter. it takes alot to overcome a stock converter trying to launch.

and the track data con't be bad as you say. after all, i did gain 1 mph. which is indicative of gaining 10 hp in the upper rpms. would you agree on that?

12.07 on a completely stock internal, meaning cam, rockers springs, etc.?? is so, then i'm shooting to match or beat that one. is your car manual or auto? currently i'm 13.34 NA. before converter. slp airlid, k/n filter, and bassani.

on another note, 10s through a y-pipe and not duals is VERY GOOD. i am impressed with that one.
