Default Lid Install Air Pipe

Just installed a new lid on my 2000 Trans am, I do not have the breather filter for the air pipe, 62-1030, will i hurt anything leaving this pipe uncapped just ziptied up under the front of the car? from what i see, it just goes into the header and into the restof the exhaust. I don't see anything going wrong leaving it like that, but what do I know. I have no cats, so I am told air is pointless, however I don't want to remove it. What do you guys think?

you will get a check engine light, but you probably already have one from no cats. Just have it turned off if you can and take that crap out. Don't forget to cap the holes.

I drove the car for a couple miles with no lights, I have o2 sims, so there is no lights from the cats. Will it hurt anything to not have the pipe hooked up to anything, i know it sucks air in, anything bad going to happen if it gets a little dirt in there?

I'd just go to your local parts store and get a cheap breather filter for it, zip tie it to the eyelet near the top of the radiator. If you still have your air pump you'll get a code if the hose is kinked.

You should be fine, worst case you burn the pump up and then you have to remove it, I would say go ahead and remove it anyway. You do not need it.

If I remove it, the only way it will not throw codes is to have them deleted with LS1 Edit, correct, or another tuning program? If so, I don't have access to the program, and they will have to stay.

I have a Mr. Gasket chrome breather for the AIR tube that I dont need anymore. I'll sell it to you for $10 shipped if you want it.
