Nope. Drove around with it open for months at a time (until I went to LTs and ORY). If it's throwing a code you've got something else going on. BTW, this is with the cut out installed in the I-pipe under the rear seat pan.
do you have it installed before cats? if so...you'll probably get acode for the cat below efficiantcy(sp) but if its after the cats..diff problem...got get you car scanned..autozone does it for free

It shouldn't set off a code if it's in the I-pipe in the passenger rear seat area... there are no sensors past the 2 rear O2 sensors behind the cats
I have my cutout uncapped for several months before I installed the headers and never saw a code with it.
