LS6 intake... any gains for stock?
Trending Topics
The ls6 intakes come stock on 01 and 02 cars that have less lift than the 98-00 ls1 cams do. So no, they weren't necessarily designed to be used on cars with more lift than the 98-00's have. The intake might even work slightly better on a 98-00 car with the higher lift cams. They do add more horsepower on a head and cammed car, but none the less are part of a stock 01/02 setup.

im speaking not just about the 01-02fbody cam. the ls6 intake was not DESIGNED to be specific for a 01-02 fbody cam. it was designed to work with the higher lift of the z06 cam. the reason the 01-02 cars recieved this intake is to increase mid-range torque AND since GM did not have the funds to produce both the LS1 and the LS6 intake. so every 01+ ls1 car got one mainly for cost purposes.
not to say they dont make a difference. but again GM made a cost saving choice to use the 6.0L truck cam in the 01-02 fbody's and this cam mad better mid-range torque. so naturally the two paired together made sence, both cost and power wise.
and still 01-02 cars typically dyno camparable to 98-00 cars. despite these handicaps.
