The cheapest way to quiet it down a good bit would be to get a borla XR1 muffler and place it where the expansion chamber is on the loudmouth. This is what I am going to do when I get my longtubes. Then if its still too loud you could also look into getting the mac catted y to go with those shorties.

Have some cats stuck on the Y-pipe (e.g. carsound or random tech) and replace the resonator with a bullet muffler. Or go with a whole new cat-back. SLP dual/dual seems to quiet the exhaust down pretty well while still maintaing adequate flow.

thanks for the posts guys... i originally had cats on the y pipe but my dad drove it over a speed bump and cracked the honeycomb insides of the random tech cat... so since i was out one i had them taken out and put in straight pipes... thanks again for the advice...

I have the Hooker earo chamber and I love it, not loud but still has a healthy sound. When you stand on the throttle it comest to life, I only gained 1 HP on the dyno and lost 4 lb-ft with the cut out open.

Like you I wanted something somewhat quiet so I could still hear the Procharger, Im very pleased with it.

Believe it or not, a SLP Dual/Dual or a WS6 exhaust would make for a nice fit.

Takes out almost all the exhaust "note" with very little HP loss (compared to an open exhaust)

One way is to go with stock exhaust and cutout. You won't get much quieter than that. And with it open you can't beat the flow. Not everyone likes it, but it has been a great setup for me.

I had the loudmouth until headers too.

The Magnaflow and the Hooker cat-backs flow great and are fairly quiet.

I have Mac Mids and true duals that I love ...When I first installed my Macs I had an ORY and Magnaflow Cat back and it was too quiet for me. It sounded stock at idle,,,,,,Now when you really got on it there was some noise but not as much as I had expected...

I got the slp dual dual on my car, I also dont have any cats. The car is quiet, when just crusing around in low rpm's it sounds a little louder than stock, not by much though. Its only when you go wot that it gets pretty loud. Actually I'am considering changing catbacks because its not as loud as I want. So if your looking for something quiet then get the dual dual, the dual dual also flows really well.
