I just tried to get mine as close to 240 as possible and called it good.

240 is the spec of the stock OLD bolt, before you torque and stretch a new one.
i just did this sunday, and found one post where it was 200.... and another at 150.
i snugged it to 150.... then gave it a lil more.
i doubt its comming off.
good luck.

arp has a torque spec, not torque to yield.
ive seen a few posts of people breaking them, or stripping out the crank trying to use stock specs with the ARP bolt.

Call the ARP tech line for the correct spec because they generally offer 2 torque specs; a higher one when the threads are lubed with 30W oil and a lower one when using their own moly lube (recommended). They should have included it with the bolt.

I'm w/ drkphx. I called arp when I did mine. Can't remember what it was exactly though. There was one spec w/ arp moly lube, another w/ 30w oil and another w/ locktite. They were all in the 230-245 range.

I called the other day and the lady said 196 with moly lube between bolt head and washer and 247 with 30wt oil. So I think 200 is a good number to shoot for no matter what.

you can use loctite if you want. Moly lube is just a type of assembly lube; a kind of grease. Yeah, you can use either moly or oil between the washer and bolt head, and shoot for 196 or 247... btw, I had a typo there before, edited my first post.
