Default BBK 80mm TB..

recently got my bbk 80mm throttle body, and installing it i had a little problem. After i installed it the car wouldn't idle properly; the rpm's kept rising until i took my foot off of the clutch and the car was in neutral. The pedal was also pushed all the way down to the floor, and all i could do was push the top of the pedal...what did i do wrong?!

Check the idle setting. Make sure of two things: there is nothing to resist binding and the idle **** is smooth at a consistant ~850rpm.

bbk is a crap tb, they have a lot of problems not to mention they dont flow that well. You would be better of with selling that one for 300+ and picking up a ported stock one. just my .02

What exactly IS the lots of problems you are talking about? I used this exact BBK ported TB for 2 years and had exactly NO problems with it. Check my sig. I ran that ET and MPH N/A with that BBK TB he bought from me.

Just wondering.

well like i said earlier..it was wierd, the pedal was pushed down to the floor, and the only play i had in it was when i pushed the top of the pedal and it only went down like an inch. the normal position of the pedal was about 3 inhes forward.

Did I? Well yes I did adjust it to my cars needs. There is nothing wrong with that TB. Sounds like you have a bind in your throttle cable.

I also responded to your PM and asked you a few questions.

What good is an 80mm TB on a stock LS6 intake? I've read many BBK TB issues over the years. I've read of zero problems with stock ported TB's.

I had 0 problems with the 80mm BBK. Besides, I sold the man what he asked for. I have NO idea what his set up is.

I also have a ported stock TB that stuck open on me once. You must have been lucky to get a good stock ported TB.
