This is not common with KOOKS. KOOKS and QTP = the best money can buy.
It's gotta be an isolated case.

Ummm... was everything back in place when you noticed this/ took the picture? For example, everything tilts down when you undo the trans crossmember because the motor mounts flex... if you havent bolted the trans back up yet, try it and hopefully everything should clear fine.

mine used to do that with the stock catback. but when i installed GMMG for some reason they don't touch anymore(kooks weren't moved for the install). i also know my motor mount is bad and there are plans to fix it soon(if i get off my lazy *** for a day). they fit GREAT before my MM went bad. i'd definitely look into that.

Kooks do fit well....but keep in mind they were probably designed around a car w/good motor mounts

as for the situation has the car ever been in an accident of any sort? If not send em back.
That's what I was thinking. Sure the car is straight?

car is 100% straight with like 8k on it so it aint the motor mounts. the car was actually CT Morgan's old car that was on the cover of gm hightech performance.

when the picture was taken everything was tightened, buttoned down, ready to go.

In the 2+ years I've been on this site, this is the 1st I've seen of this. You bought some good headers.

Talking Headers

First post ever on this forum! Always lurking though. I installed a set of 1 7/8 Kooks about a week ago and had the exact same problem on the same side. I just figured when you have such tight tolerances you can expect to do alittle tweaking?! Oh well, I just heated this spot up slightly and put my own little slight bend in so it doesn't make contact. I have all the polly mounts so when the engine torques it doesn't move one bit

Someone posted last week complaining about Pacesetter's, I remember a few comments "you get what you pay for". My Pacesetter's went in with no clearance issues whatsoever.
Whether you spend $1,000 or $375 on headers there's never a gurantee they are going to fit perfectly. Sure does suck when you fork out that kind of cash you would expect better quality & fittment.

Kooks here, no problems with fitment (1 3/4" primaries). As stated though, when you start modding these cars, there is no guarantee that everything will go as planned. That is the risk we all take.

I bought my Kooks 1 7/8" headers over a year ago and they touch the stock k-member also, same location. I called Kook's about it and they basically made me feel like they thought I was lying. Never did get a fix from them. I now have a tubular k-member ready to install so ....

That is my car in the picture.

I emailed kooks in hopes that they will make some effort to rectify the situation. Obviously this is not the first occurance. I find this grossly unacceptable for a company of their reputation and a part that cost this amount of money.

i've seen cory's car. he had headers on it and they fit fine. PM him and see what kind they were. however, he didn't have a cheap piece on that car(i know, i have his CM spohn lca's). i'd still check the motor mounts.

I had a similar issue with Jet Hots. What was interesting when comparing another 02 WS6 with mine who did not have clearance issue is that our K-members weren't exactly the same. I'm guessing the tolerences of the K-members made by G.M. were quite loose and are party at fault for the erratic issues people are having with Headers.
