Question CME install

I'm about to buy a CME and was just wondering will it just adapt to any catback? Right now I have a shitty flowmaster on the car...So would it just be a matter of a muffler shop fitting it to the catback or is there somthing specific I would have to buy to make this fit on the car?

Should work w/ just about any catback. All that should be needed is a couple of elbows to go from the tips into the CME.

We just finished adapting the CME to my GMMG exhaust...it was a bit more difficult than most had said it would be to get everything to line up just right...we had to do a bit of cutting and rewelding to the GMMG outlet pipes, but it worked just fine in the end...just buy the two 90 degree elbows for the CME from SLP and any competent muffler shop should be able to set it up for you...the look is well worth the effort, IMO.

Yes, lawman, very nice setup. Ive been trying to find a pic of how the CME clams work. Exactly how are they attached to the rails? Can they be moved further down (closer to the rear)? Im going to try and connect a CME to my true duals and my magnaflow mufflers sit pretty far back...

THX...If you mean the rear-most hangers, I bought two universal weld-on stainless hangers and bolted them to the SLP-installed rear mounts for the original Dual-Dual setup...you should be able to get these hangers from SLP and move them further back the rails or, if you already have the hangers, just drill new holes...here's a blown-up shot of the hanger assembly that should show what I mean:

HMMM.......Mine is similar but the left (drivers side) elbow is the complete opposite of how you did yours. On mine the short end of the elbow goes to the CME and the long end goes to the GMMG system. That way it required no cutting, fabrication of tubing, or any extra joints to mate everything together.

Your system looks great but I am guessing that the way it was run is the reason you had a more difficult time installing the CME to the GMMG..........FYI.

Most of the difficulty we had with the GMMG was the kink in the drivers' side outlet pipe...we switched those elbows around in several different configurations and couldn't get it "just right"...I was a bit shocked at how poorly it lined up based upon pics of other people's systems (your's included!).
