Default longtubes and exhaust installed, now problems

i got my pacesetter headers and custom dual exhaust put on this past weekend and now my car doesnt run right. i got rid of my cats and had someone tune out the back 2 o2s with hptuners. when i floor it, it seems to jerk a little bit as its gaining speed, like its kinda hesitating to gain speed. also when im doing about 45-55 it does the same until i give it some throttle.

somebody told me to check the plugs and wires, but they were fine the day before, no problems. it ran fine until now. does anyone have any ideas on what this could be? thanks for any input.

is your check engine light on? if not then, then it's most likely you wires. You need to buy NEW plug wires, not check them. When you buy new plug wires the problem should go away, if not look elsewhere, IF you haven't bought new ones already, you better.

p.s the Cats and rear o2's have nothing to do with your miss.

does that mean you have to change plug wires when you go to headers? or only sometimes?

I think yanking them off and on is not good ,now if they are 1 month old they still might be good, its just a good rule of thumb to change plugs and wires why you there. If the car runs fine them maybe not , He discribed the the miss and that most likely is from crappy wires and its time to buy new ones

Tim,
I did the exact same mods as you have done, but with little or no trouble. I have Pacesetter Headers backed up by a SLP LM Exhaust. In the beginning, my service engine soon light would come on all the time. I finally tracked the problem down to a burned out o2 sensor. Once I replaced that, things got better for my car. Along with that, I threw in a Hyoertech tune and have'nt seen the problem since. Mine only hicupped once that I can remember, but no major problems since then. Must be in the tune in my opinion. Hope this helps. But once you get it right, you won't be disappointed! Pacestter pipes are not that bad for the money in my opinion. But keep an eye on the header bolts, they will loosen on you. Just the nature of the beast. ~ BowmansRedAlert

GO with the MSD wires! They are good wires for your car. Get the 8.5mm's!
