I'm running Kooks with their catted y pipe and a GMMG exhaust. Definitely sounds mean. I polished the chambers so the system with the big tips looks great. A little loud but I'm from the muscle car era and I love the deep, throaty sound. I think it would be too loud without cats. My car has Eibach's Pro Kit and the clearance for the entire system is great!

Kooks Longtubes + High Flow Catted Y Pipe + GMMG = The Shizzle!

The problem was with the older Corsa mufflers, I've had mine for almost 2 years and no sign of problems.

Is that the dual outlet muffler or single outlet muffler? I am running a 3.5 with a single exit Dynomax Ultra Flo Muffler and I was thinking of buying the dual outlet spintech muffler and run that. Is the drone bad cruising around? Raspy? Didn't mean to hijack the thread....

Talking Gmmg !!

I have the EXACT same situation here... might have to move to a Magnaflow pretty soon..

Cam + Kooks LTs w/Cats + GMMG =

But, like he said above... when I start the car in the morning, it sounds like a damn nuke!!! you have to listen to it in person.. no recording can ever replicate or reproduce that sound on the computer!!

And you'd pay $1k for you car to sound like that vette ?? Guess what... with a nice cam + LTs + GMMG... your LS1 will put that corsa vette to shame!

I was debating between the CORSA and GMMG.. but what pushed me away from CORSA was it's shrill sound at WOT... The GMMG is VERY deep and throaty!!

I can't even begin to list how many heads the car turns, how many kids run away crying , how many cops frown , how many ricers crap their pants when they hear the idle [let alone WOT!] and how many people compliment the sound!!

I would def. recommend GMMG.. not just because I have it.. but because there is NO other system [except duals] that'll make your car sound as good as the GMMG!!

My thing with the Mufflex is that you may be losing low end and midrange. With true duals, you'll gain low end and midrange. Plus no other setup can match true duals for the deep sound around town and NASCAR wail at WOT.

Yep. I was at a friends house yesterday and a kid was walking up the road. I fired the car up and he ran home. hahah. Went to the local import hangout and within 30 seconds I had 100 people around the car thinking it was Jon Force. Damn ricers. hahaha. Maganflow goes on tonight, I will let you know how it sounds compared

I sold my corsa for a GMMG. No problems, best mod so far till I have my KOOKS installed in a couple of weeks. Quality issues with the Corsa....Less than a year old and the muffler was falling apart. Car stored during winter here in Illinois. Plus I did think the sound was to high pitched but to each there own. Good luck!

My vote is for GMMG
I just installed mine this weekend.
Nothing but compliments ever since!
I love its deep tone ...
I spent a few hours giving mine a nice brushed finish
before I installed it..

I have the Corsa - a couple of the guys in my club have the Gmmg - cannot go wrong with either one - they do sound VERY different. My car is one of the loudest cars in our local club. It is not for the meek One thing I will say is there is absolutely NO drone inside - it has to be the best at that. I hear many complain about the drone inside with other set-ups - I still cannot get over how quiet mine is inside and unbelievably loud outside. If you have sensative neghbors do not get the Corsa - - unless you are capable of keeping it < 1K RPM - I am not

yea the GMMG drones pretty bad inside the car, but I am thinking that a bullet in the I pipe will kill some of the drone/rasp.

I know a couple of guys who have done that and they are very happy with the results. I might be doing something similar because my car is so freakin loud I cannot go anywhere discretely - while that is not a bad thing, I mean if attn was a problem I would not drive a Trans Am - sometimes you NEED to be quiet. I took it to the local hangout for the first time this weekend and the attention it got was cool. Oh and for those who don't know cammed LS1s > *

alright, here's what my .2 on both exhaust because I've heard both of these in person...

QTP LT's, Mufflex ORY, GMMG (what I have) - sounds BAD ***! drone inside the car is kinda bad, rasp is kinda bad at 1800-2100. This setup louds louder to me then the Corsa.

QTP LT's, QTP dual QTEC ORY, Corsa (buddy has it)- sounds awesome too, but doesn't have the raw, muscle car tone like the GMMG, but still sounds bad ***! Drone inside isn't as near as bad as the GMMG, rasp is less then the GMMG, little quieter then the GMMG.

Hope that helps you out a little.

You cannot go wrong here. The Corsa is much higher pitched - not as loud as the GMMG at idle or part throttle - but at WOT there is no comparison. The Corsa hurts your ears outside the car....literally at WOT - it is a high pitched scream - more like an exotic car than old time muscle car. The GMMG has a deeper tone no doubt.

what tips did you go with?
The stock slash cuts for now...
I don't like the way the ovals look on TA's
I am looking for some split tips that I like that don't cost half of what my exhaust did.
...Like the Corsa premium's do ....

yea the GMMG drones pretty bad inside the car, but I am thinking that a bullet in the I pipe will kill some of the drone/rasp.
Are you running an ORY?
I don't have any drone or rasp..

One of the best reasons for the Corsa:

Sorry it is a little dark!
