Electric Cutout Location?

Electric Cutout Location? Where is the safe place to put my electric cutout? I'm worried about putting it too close to the front and have heat damage. I was thinking about putting it where my Y-pipe ends....
suggestions?

Take a look under your car... There is a PERFECT spot under the rear seat. It's like it was meant to be there - there is even a grommet to send the wires through. Check it out, you'll see

being up next to the headers would be so loud
my cutout comes with a 12ft cord...i guess that would be long enough if i put it under the rear seat

It won't be any louder at the end of the Y pipe - you are talking about the difference of a foot. Mine is pretty friggin loud (w, LT's and ORY). It gained me 0.1 at the track!
